More RetroEngine!

Dear Backers,

as some of you may have seen at Backerkit, we have started taking pre-orders for the upcoming retail version of the RetroEngine. We are happy to announce that starting immediately, you can also order this model via InDemand, here on Indiegogo.
Pre-Orders will ship starting July, before the system goes into retail later this year.

Also, surveys are being sent out right now, many of you have already received them.
Please note that survey options can only be changed until 1st of March, afterwards all options need to be locked in to finalize production counts.

Please note that shipping address or option updates should now be made at backerkit only - changes at Indiegogo after the 4th of February may not be reflected correctly in the Backerkit database.

Select accessories are available at Backerkit now and will soon also be available at doyodo.com and via retro-engine.com.

Game on!

Dear Backers,

We have completed preparations for our surveys and as some of you may already know, we will be using Backerkit to send out the surveys and provide you with an interface to manage your orders. Many of you probably know Backerkit from other projects, for those that don't, here is a preview screenshot of the color survey:

We will submit the survey to the Backerkit team for their final review within the next 30 minutes, which may take up to two business days, so please don't be disappointed if your survey invitation doesn't reach you before Tuesday or Wednesday.

Several of you have contacted us because they anticipated a change of address between now and the time their perks are scheduled to ship. One of the great features of Backerkit is that you can log in at any time to update your shipping address. So instead of sending another survey we will use the Backerkit database for shipping info as soon as the individual perks are ready to ship. We will remind you when it is time to make sure that your address info is up to date.

Other backers had the problem that their address info somehow had the wrong country attached to it, please contact us if you are unable to correct this by yourself.

Additional good news: In the meantime we have tested various controller designs and have found one that we like a lot. It's a little more expensive, but we have decided to make it a free upgrade for all backers in place of the originally planned Dual Stick Analog Controller. This is how the new controller will look like:

As these things are of course also a question of personal taste, we will give you the option to downgrade to the originally planned version should you choose to do so.

Have a nice Weekend!

Dear Backers,

The campaign is coming to its end. Thank you all for being on board! We will update you on project progress from time to time. Please  keep mail from indiegogo.com and retro-engine.com whitelisted so you receive the color survey and get notified when updates have been published. The color survey will be sent in 2 weeks. It won't hurt to check back in once every two weeks or so.

We want to take the opportunity to cross-promote one additional campaign we love and to make it worthwhile we are extending the end of our campaign until Thursday night PST. Tell all your friends!

Please check out Stealth: Get Ripped Abs by Playing Games. Considering that we are soon helping to turn you into couch potatoes, we feel it is a good idea to point you towards something you can counter the negative effects with :-)
We can't believe how easy & fun working out is with this!

Thank you,

Dear Backers,

today we're featured on Backerclub.co. BackerClub is an exclusive club for people who love crowdfunding and back a ton of projects. We're hoping to gain some extra exposure within the ranks of their club-members - what they're doing is super helpful to campaigners and active backers alike. If you think this is something for you as well, please check them out.

Greetings,

Dear Backers,

A little bit late due to CES: Here is another addition to the Sigma games list:

* Joe & Mac 2: Lost in the Tropics

The somewhat confusingly titled 16 Bit action platformer from 1994 actually features the *third* adventure of Joe & Mac. Consequently, it was released as Joe & Mac 3 in Europe. The objective of the game is to beat up a bunch of cavemen with a pair of player controlled ninja-cavemen. The game delivers hours of playtime, is very colorful, funny and famous for its diverse collection of giant dinosaur bosses.

* Two Crude

Originally released as “Crude Buster” and later published on Genesis as “Two Crude Dudes”, this 1991 “Beat’em up” is a great example of the side scrolling martial arts / action games that were popular in the early 90s. Two players can join simultaneously and together punch and fight through unbelievable amounts of enemies. Despite the clichéd background story (our heroes are tasked to stop a terrorist organization and retake control of New York), this is one of the best games in the genre, full of humor and variety.

* Tumble Pop

This excellent 1991 Arcade release is a great action game, but very hard to describe. Let’s try a direct quote from Wikipedia:

“The game involves one or two ghostbusters who can suck monsters, ghosts, aliens and various other oddball characters into vacuum-cleaner-like devices and spit them back as bouncing/rolling balls. Expelled enemies function as projectiles that can damage and kill other opponents on the screen when colliding with them.“ What else could we want from an arcade game?

* Fighter’s History

If you like Street Fighter, you’ll like this 1993 Arcade release. Six button controls, three punches and three kicks - ideal for our retro controller. Puts the “Combo” in “Combat” (or smthg. like that :-) .

And another shoutout:

Please check out this ongoing InDemand campaign from our friends at Daplie:
